Helping Women in our Community
Charity of the Month
This month’s charity is Ladies Living Free, located in Paducah, Kentucky. This is the charity that was presented with around $1,000 raised at the powderpuff football game.
Ladies Living Free is a faith-based recovery center for women struggling with addiction. Not only do they help free women from drug and alcohol abuse, but they also evangelize to them and include bible studies in their program.
Ladies Living Free also betters the community with their volunteer service, job training, and teaching skills for financial stability. Their staff of 39 and 65 volunteers all help to improve both Paducah and the lives of those who are enrolled in their program.
In 2005 a version of Lifelines program for men was modified to be more specific to women and the two organizations merged in 2006 to make Lifeline Recovery Center.
In 2012 a house was built for Ladies Living Free and the organization offered full time hours in 2015.
In 2021 Ladies Living Free obtained AODE licensure, CARF accreditation and recognized their past executive director, Terrye Peeler, and board member, Kenny Hunt, by naming a men’s dormitory building Peeler and Hunt Hall.
